immediate future has a commitment to growing and enhancing its Networks – and that means journalists too.

You are a key stakeholder in our business and we take our relationship with you very seriously. So, we’ve put together a Media Charter underlining our commitment to getting things right for journalists:

Contact & Deadlines

  • IF will take calls immediately. If we can’t, we will aim to return calls to the office within 30 minutes.

  • Should you contact a colleague who is out of office, someone will return your call within 30 minutes.

  • We promise not to call you on deadline or press days unless we think you will want to know about an urgent news piece.

  • We make a point of knowing deadline and press days and always work with them.

  • We will tell you in advance if we think we won’t be able to supply the information you require in time for a deadline.

News & Information

  • You know what makes news and what does not, so we won’t send you a press release with no story.

  • When we do have a story, we will call you first, talk around any subject or angle that interests you, and make sure we send you a proof checked, accurate press release.

  • We manage client expectations and only look for proactive opportunities with the media when we feel our clients have something to say.

  • You can always rely on us for the truth as we advise our clients to be open and transparent. It’s in everyone’s interest.

  • If you are interested in a story or feature, we promise to follow through on your expectations.

  • You are a specialist with broad industry knowledge. We will make sure we know our subject inside out before we contact you to discuss it.

  • Knowledge is not property, we are happy to talk about an industry issue, even if we don’t represent any clients in that arena.

  • Time is of the essence. We check all features listings in advance and proactively find out what you need and when you need it.

Respect for the profession

  • Today’s freelance writers can be tomorrow’s deputy editors. We respect all journalists regardless of status and treat everyone in the media with professional integrity.

  • We do our homework on you, and keep updated journalist biographies that highlight your specific interests, specialist areas and things that bug you.

  •  Never be afraid to ask us. We know our industry, our clients and have opinions on all issues and challenges.

  • You might be asked for your opinion on a client Campaign. But only because we want to learn from any mistakes and we value your feedback
