Don’t know your podcasting from your vodcasting? Confused as to the meaning of search engine optimisation? And what exactly is a blog? Or blogging? Or the blogosphere? Here for the first time, in our fabulous Online PR and Social Media Glossary (phew), are our slightly tongue-in-cheek definitions for all the latest buzzwords doing the rounds. (And writing them kept the immediate future team amused for at least a whole afternoon!) Any definitions you want to add? Email us at info@immediatefuture.co.uk | |

| Microsite | A microsite or mini website is a small, self contained page or website that has a particular message about a single product or service. A microsite may be reached from a site’s home page but will often have a different address. A microsite is also a website about Posh Spice. |
| Mobcast | An audio programme that can be delivered directly to your mobile phone or any other mobile device is known as a mobcast or mobilecast. A mobcast is nothing to do with thousands of people standing outside Harrods on the first day of the January sales. |
| Mobile Search | Mobile search is the result of convergence of search engines and mobile phones which means you can now browse the internet using your phone. So now there’s no excuse for being late home because you didn’t know the name of a cab company. |
| Mobile SEO | Mobile SEO is organising your website so all the information on it can still be read and understood if viewed on a mobile phone screen. So include all the important information at the top of the page, keep the titles short, and the content shorter. GD 2CU WE R A G8 CMPNY. |
| Moblog | A moblog is a blog that is published by a moblogger straight to a website using a mobile phone or PDA. Most moblogs contain photos that have been taken using a camera phone; handy if you’re at the scene of a major event or if you just want to embarrass your mates. |

BlogrollA blogroll is a list of links to other ‘interesting’ blogs and websites and is normally situated at the side of a blog. A blogroll is not the white paper stuff that sits next to the loo. More jargon-busting in our online PR glossary |
